In Ruth’s words:
I first traveled to Bhutan in 2018 and immediately found myself captivated by the compassion, the kindness and the intentionality of everyone I met. My experience inspired me to deepen my personal practice, to begin to weave Buddhism into all aspects of my life, as the people of Bhutan demonstrate every day Soto Zen tradition, the Buddhist stories and precepts are the same as the Vajrayana tradition lived across Bhutan.
Professionally, I deliver the curriculum of Dr. Brené Brown and teach Mindfulness and Self-Compassion for the Center for Mindfulness, affiliated with University of California, San Diego. I lead leadership and personal retreats and work individually with clients as a leadership and life coach. And I am learning what it means to ‘live by vow’.
On returning to Bhutan:
I so look forward to returning to Bhutan. I am eager to sit daily with masters and teachers and fellow practitioners. Our tour is designed to move a little slower, with an emphasis on the teachings, the practices and the integration of Vajrayana Buddhism into every day life. I feel so fortunate to partner with and learn together will Kinley Tshering and Jill Goldvarg, our guides and operators of Cypress Himalaya. This will be a very special experience. I hope you will join us.
