Basic 14 Day Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrive Paro International Airport, visit to Milarepa Temple-blessing water, overnight in Thimphu
  • Day 2 Thimphu, Buddha Dordenma, Thimphu Nye (secret place) of Guru Rinpoche and Yeshe Tshogyal, Pangri Zampa (Astrology College)
  • Day 3 Thimphu hike to Tango-Cheri
  • Day 4 Punakha Drive to Dochula Pass, Punakha Dzong
  • Day 5 Punakha-hike Chimi Lhakhang, Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Temple.  
  • Day 6 Phobjikha Wilderness Center-hike a nature trail, Gangtey Monastery, meditation in temple
  • Day 7 Bumthang, Trongsa Tower Museum, Bumthang Kurjey Lhakhang (Kurjey Drupchu medicinal water)Jambay Lhakhang,
  • Day 8 Bumthang Burning Lake at Membartso,
  • Day 9 Bumthang Tharpaling Monastery, Guru Rinpoche cave and nature hike
  • Day 10 Bumthang Orgyen Choling Day visit, Tang Valley
  • Day 11 25 min Domestic Flight to Paro, Dilgo Khyentse Memorial House

2025 Costs for All Inclusive Tour-14 days

  • Tour Cost for 14 days, departs on day 15 : $3,550 USD per person, paid to Cypress Himalaya via Wire Transfer
  • In addition, the *SDF is $1,400 (14 days) per person, we pay this for you to The Royal Government of Bhutan-Immigration
  • Visa Fee is $40
  • Round Trip flights Kathmandu approx, ($460), Delhi ($570), Bangkok ($920)
  • Domestic Flight from Bumthang to Paro ($202)
*What is the Sustainable Development Fee? (SDF) Tourists will pay a Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) directly to the Royal Government of Bhutan. The royalty provides free education and healthcare for the citizens of Bhutan. It protects and nurtures the conservation of the environment, promotion of culture, enhancement infrastructure and improved facilities for tourists in Bhutan. The SDF is to secure sustainable and responsible tourism as “High value, Low volume”

Visa Details, E-tickets

  • We will process your Visa through Immigration
  • Your E-ticket and your Visa will be emailed to you to you one month before travel time
  • You will be responsible for obtaining a Visa for any other countries you will be transiting on your way into Bhutan
TO CONFIRM YOUR REGISTRATION: Send us your photo page of your passport, scanned as a JPEG, valid for 6 months of travel before expiration. Email to: Cypresshimalaya@gmail.com.

Accommodations

  • Rooms are Standard Deluxe, King/Queen Size
  • We only use exclusive resorts and hotels
  • There are hair dyers, hot water boilers and wifi in all the rooms
  • You can bring your own adapters, most hotels are already retrofitted for your I-phones.(We’ll send a Bhutan Checklist for this tour with details on what to bring)

Food/Meal Options

Let us know your preferences, food allergies/sensitivities

  • Breakfast will be a choice of continental, breads, pancakes, eggs, coffee and teas.
  •  Lunch and dinners consist of freshly cooked organic vegetables, a meat dish and either Bhutanese red rice or white rice, and a noodle dish.  
  • Veg and Non Veg options at each meal, sometimes influenced by the cuisine of India, Nepal, chefs will try to incorporate traditional dishes of Bhutan. 
  • Bhutan is almost 100 percent organic, we will visit some incredible market places in Paro and Thimphu if time permits.
  • Red Rice is by far the most popular exported grain
  • The main dish for the Bhutanese is a chili cheese dish called Ema Datshi, and also momo’s which are a dumpling influenced from Tibet and Nepal.
  • Beef, chicken and pork are the most popular meats, there is no butchery in Bhutan, it’s imported from India.

Our Cancellation Policy

Cancellation must be approved by us in an email–The refund wire transfer charges are covered by the receiving beneficiary. Updated August 2024

a) If notification of your tour cancellation is received within 45 days prior to arrival in Bhutan, 25% of your Bhutan tour cost shall be deducted as cancellation charges.

b) If notification of your tour cancellation is received within 30 days before your arrival in Bhutan, 50% of your Bhutan tour cost shall be deducted as cancellation charges.

c) If notification of your tour cancellation is received from 29 -0 days before your arrival in Bhutan, there is no cash refund for the tour cancellation, however change date is permitted. Admin fee applied.
